Kimi O Neill

I'm a massive fan of the artist/actress Paloma Faith.
Paloma Faith is one of my biggest icons in fashion as she is so weird and wonderful. She isn't afraid to be who she is a really expresses this through her fashion.
When going to her concert at Newcastle O2 academy, 2013 her costume was an inspiration for me to go into costume which I am studying.
So doing some research I’ve found her stylist, who has also done work on a lot of similar celebrities like Paloma.

Here are some videos she has styled for.

Film noir

Film noir (French) in a film term used to describe the old fashioned Hollywood crime dramas.
This trend started out in the early 1940’s to the late 50’s.
Often these films were in black and white to create that sexual and mysterious genre.

40’s-50’s were thought of to be the ‘classic period’ of American film history.

Jean Louis

Jean Louis, born Paris 1907, Hollywood Academy award winning costume designer.
Jean Louis was the costume designer for the film Gilda and is well known for Rita Hayworth's strapless gown that was worn on set.
Before Jean went into the world of costume he worked in New York for the designer Hattie Carnegie.
Jean was a very famous designer was known for his very elegant and stunning gowns.

Jean was the designer for the very famous dress that Marilyn Monroe wore while singing Happy Birthday to JFK

Alexandra Byrne

Alexandra Byrne is a costume designer who is a big influence to me and was the designer that influenced me to go into costume design.
I’m a big fan of super hero movies and their costumes have an exciting range of work I could use in my career.

Alexandra is known for her work on The Avengers, Thor, Finding Never land and also Elizabeth. This shows that she has had an exciting range of costume design throughout her career instead of just sticking to one genre which is something I am interested in following.
