Film noir (French) in a film term used to
describe the old fashioned Hollywood crime dramas.
This trend started out in the early
1940’s to the late 50’s.
Often these films were in black and white
to create that sexual and mysterious genre.
40’s-50’s were thought of to be the
‘classic period’ of American film history.
