Finally after months of telling myself I need to watch the film Belle I managed to find the time to sit down and relax and enjoy this amazing film!
The 18th Century is my favourite era for costume, the rococo style is beautiful and elaborate and all the pastles, ribbon and lace is everything I love about this style!
Belle is set in the 18th century and is based on a true story. Dido is a young would who's mother was a black slave who was in love with her father who was a rich sailor. Sadly her mother passed however as her father was out at see he begged his family to take care of Dido.
This film is basically about Dido's place in society as a black woman who has grown up in such luxury.
Belle is an extrodinary film with beautiful costume designs.
The costume designer for Belle was Anushia Nieradzik, a woman who I haven't heard about and when doing some research I haven't seen or heard of any films she has down. However the beautiful work she has done for Belle I'm sure I will see something new soon.
