So as I'm going away, back to Zante in fact I've decided I'm going to put my sewing skills into good use and start creating some beautiful summer clothes.
As I'm wanting to pursue a career in costume/fashion I thought it was by time to invest in a tailors dummy, in which I got 'Diana' from my local Tully's store for £130.
I bought some lovely yellow gingham material from Linens in Hartlepool for £3 pm and this beautiful vintage pattern for £9.
To create my pattern I cut up an old pair of high waisted shorts that I loved but the material was wearing thin to use as a pattern. I had to add dart into the pattern as I have to buy size 14 shorts for length as I am tall however my waist is size 10. Such a pain.
After an hour or so I've managed to whip up some lovely shorts with a zip at the back. the only fault I have to say is that my material is rather thin in which I shall have to be extra careful with the underwear I chose to wear with them.
